Mainstream GPS
		This list is intended for any blind or vision-impaired person who uses, or is considering using, a mainstream GPs (satellite) navigation solution, not specifically designed for vision-impaired people. There are already several specialist GPs products such as Humanware's Braille Note GPS and trekker, and the street Talker/destinator software which runs on freedom scientific's Pac Mate. But many vision-impaired people are successfully using more mainstream alternatives such as the Wayfinder software which can run on some symbian Series 60 mobile phones in combination with the Talks screen reader application from Scansoft, and there is the potential for a great expansion in the use of other GPS-based technologies, as screen readers for a wider variety of mainstream hand-held devices are developed. This list is designed to enable the sharing of ideas relating to these and other non-specialist solutions.

		Plus 20
		The +20 Project imagines what technologies, cultural norms and business models might be needed to make current trends such as openness and transparency thrive in 20 years. Then it tries to bring those needs to life, either nurturing projects already in the world, or building new projects where none exist. One of the major projects for Plus20 is a rethinking of the technology infrastructure we use to discuss, decide and act on issues. Another major project involves the design of a software platform to serve creative people with many ways to make money.

		DOS Application Projects for the Arachne Web Browser
		Araneum is the Latin word for the "strands" of a spider's web. Arachne is the Latin word meaning "spider". The Araneum Project was created to explore various ways to use Arachne (a DOS web browser and DOS shell) as a front end for launching DOS programs. Araneum@freelists.org is an email list dedicated to the creation of DOS Applications for the Arachne web browser and DOS shell. This is NOT a place to discuss other topics. This IS the place to ask HOW you can apply Arachne in creative ways that will launch DOS applications from within the Arachne shell. 		Geographic Valuation System
		This list serves to offer a way for users of the GVS to communicate and to provide assistance to eachother when creating software tools that contribute to the existing GVS software. The GVS has been developed with First Nations to enable other First Nations to communicate their values to outside (non-band members) resource managers and planners. The GVS uses an approach to empower community members to collect data and information and develop software tools that are best suited for their individual culture's needs. The GVS applies menus and multimedia links to enable users to access information and knowledge about Traditional Environmental Knowledge (TEK). The GVS uses the Flexible Internet Spatial Template (FIST) as a base so check out the FIST list also.
