The GVS has been developed with First Nations to enable other First Nations to communicate their values to outside (non-band members) resource managers and planners. The GVS uses an approach to empower community members to collect data and information and develop software tools that are best suited for their individual culture's needs. The GVS applies menus and multimedia links to enable users to access information and knowledge about Traditional Environmental Knowledge (TEK).
